Local Teen Finds the Road to Success

At 14 years old, Donovan McBride of Waterloo, Illinois, has already created an athletic resume that any aspiring athlete would be proud of. He’s already finished numerous road races including 5ks, a half marathon and he’s been named a National All-American Athlete.

Billikens On The Rise In The A-10

The Saint Louis University cross country program is on the verge of turning the corner in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The men’s team is stocked full of young, raw talent that, although inexperienced and still learning to run at the collegiate level, will not be backing down from its challenging conference foes. On the women’s side, a window of opportunity is opening for a well-balanced squad that could be one of the conference’s top teams in the next few years.

Hundreds of track & field fans converge on midtown St. Louis, packing the stands of Saint Louis University’s track complex, cheering on the country’s elite track & field athletes as the majestic St. Louis skyline glimmers on the horizon. That is SLU track coach Jon Bell’s vision for the Billiken track & field program in the near future. With the opening of a new on-campus track, strong ties to the local running community and his dedication and enthusiasm, coach Bell’s vision of St. Louis as a national destination for track & field events is on its way to becoming a reality.
